BMW's top-selling crossover, the X5, receives a major styling makeover for 2019. It will be larger than its predecessor with extra passenger and cargo room and offer an off-road package for the first time in a light truck marketed by the German luxury brand. The 2019 X5 will be available in two variants, xDrive 40i and the xDrive 50i, when it is launched in the U.S. in November. The fourth-generation X5 xDrive 50i's 4.4-liter V-8 engine has a peak torque of 479 pound-feet, while the xDrive 40i is powered by a 3.0-liter, inline-six engine that has a peak torque of 330 pound-feet. Available on all X5 variants, the new off-road package includes underbody protection at the front and rear, along with a two-axle air suspension and electronically controlled rear differential lock.
